Friday 20th July
Instead of the road to hell being paved with good intentions, it's covered in rainwater. Thanks to the wonderful Irish weather, I ended up having to drive to work (so wrong in this weather - I'm only 1km from work and I should be cycling in). On the eating front, unfortunately ate a bag of crisps and too much chocolate.

Thursday 19th July
As part of my new regime, went for a 30 minute cycle around town this evening. I don't want to overdo things on day one. I'm not sure exactly how far my trip took me but it was definitely 2 miles if not a bit more. The important thing is that it got my heart racing and I was out of breath. Mind you, there are more fun things than cycling that can leave one breathless and with a racing heart but for the moment, it's the bike for me :(
First Post
I'm a 32 year old woman who's 5' 6" (1.67m) tall and weighs almost 196 pounds (88kg). In other words, I'm way too heavy for my height. I don't need anyone to tell me I need to lose lots of weight and change my lifestyle.
I know why I've put on weight over the past few years. It's simple. Too much food + too little exercise = Too much weight. If I make more of an effort to exercise (a sometimes tricky thing because I've an office job which can mean long hours and we're having the wettest summer on record) and stop stuffing junk food down my neck, I should be on my way.
The reason I'm starting up this blog is to make myself do something about this weight I'm putting on. I think if I update the blog every day if I can, it'll force me to do sensible things like watch what I'm eating. Anyway, we'll see.
